The HKUST AI Film Hackathon returned on March 8 with Workshop 2: Advanced Workflow, held in the afternoon at the HKUST campus. This session was led by Ka Tam and Jeni To, both serving as Hailuo Hong Kong Ambassadors and pioneering multidisciplinary creators at the intersection of art, technology, and emerging AI-driven storytelling. With backgrounds spanning international exhibitions, creative direction, and innovative applications of generative tools, the two speakers brought industry-level insight to the workshop, setting the stage for a deep dive into advanced AIGC filmmaking techniques.
Building on the foundations from Workshop 1, the second workshop dove deeper into each stage of the AIGC production pipeline, guiding students toward more refined and cinematic output. Ka Tam and Jeni To expanded the creative toolkit with an extensive library of sample prompts, failure‑case analyses, detailed character design, multi-angle workflows, and precise video‑prompt structures. Their teaching emphasized artistic direction—from shot composition and motion planning to consistency across character sheets and environments—helping students think like filmmakers rather than prompt writers. The session also introduced AI music creation with Suno, enabling participants to craft personalized soundtracks using genre, emotion, instrumentation, and metatag‑based structures.
This second workshop was powered by Minimax, who provided complimentary HailuoAI credits to all participants and helped bring together our two Hailuo Hong Kong ambassadors who led this splendid session 🙌💯 Their partnership enriched the learning experience and opened the door for students to explore advanced creative techniques with professional‑level tools.
Our next session, Workshop 3: Creative Narrative will be happening on Sunday, March 15. Stay tuned for more updates on AMC homepage and social media—there’s plenty more storytelling magic ahead! 🎥💫
