On July 31, 2025, the CCF-Tencent Rhino-Bird Fund announced the list of selected scholars, Assistant Professor Prof. Anyi RAO of the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity (AMC) has been successfully selected, among over 300 distinguished scholars from top universities and institutes.
About the project
Video generation technology has developed rapidly in recent years. Applying video generation technology to content production such as film, television, and animation has huge commercial value and can inspire more creative inspiration and forms.
However, the film and television industry has special requirements for video quality. On the content side, the generated video content needs to meet the plot requirements and the lens expression of the director, screenwriter, and creator; on the video quality side, it needs to meet a series of standards such as clarity, image quality, color, aesthetics, and physical laws. Currently, video generation models in the industry still have many problems in these two aspects.
This project aims to study quality evaluation methods for generated videos, study refined human-computer interaction methods, and guide the generation of highly controllable and high-quality videos to meet the industrial needs of film and television production in terms of both content and image quality.
About the 2025 CCF-Tencent Rhino-Bird Scientific Research Fund
Since the launch of the Rhino-Bird Fund in 2013 by the China Computer Federation (CCF) in collaboration with Tencent, over 2,800 young scholars from more than 230 universities and research institutions worldwide have submitted applications. These outstanding scholars have actively engaged and deeply collaborated through the fund’s platform, resulting in over 1,100 papers published in top conferences and journals, more than 390 patent applications, and the testing, enhancement, and application of research outcomes on industrial platforms.
This year, the Rhino-Bird Fund continues to focus on core areas of artificial intelligence, with six major focus domains and 39 technical topics. In the field of general AI, Tencent has opened key application scenarios involving its foundational models such as Hunyuan, WeChat, and advertising, aiming to drive breakthroughs in fundamental technologies like cognitive architecture, autonomous learning, multimodal perception and interaction, and reasoning and planning. In the domain of industry-specific large models, the fund promotes scenario-based applications in vertical sectors such as energy, healthcare, finance, and security. It also actively responds to national science and technology strategic needs, with a focus on AI for Science in cutting-edge areas like carbon neutrality and protein prediction.
