AMC Assistant Professor Harry YANG and Research Assistant Professor Xian XU recently shared their insights on RTHK radio program “Art Tech 時代” to discuss the development of Art Tech and talent cultivation.
Prof. Yang explained on the relationship between emerging technologies and artistic creation. He emphasized that while advancements in technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), can produce visually stunning works and streamline certain artistic processes, they fall short in replicating the essential human qualities that define true artistry.
Dr. Xu provided insights into the impact of AI on the film industry, delving into how these technologies are transforming filmmaking processes. AI is revolutionizing various stages of film production, from scriptwriting to post-production. She also highlighted that the first HKUST AI Film Festival showcased the intersection of AI and filmmaking, providing a platform for discussions, screenings, and collaborations among artists, technologists, and scholars.
