To foster collaboration between industry and academia as well as providing students with a variety of internship opportunities, the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity (AMC) has organized 3 Internship Information Sessions on December 12 & December 16, 2025, with industry representatives and art professionals sharing their company cultures, values, roles and in-depth information regarding internship posts. The Internship Information Sessions provided students with invaluable exposure to cutting-edge practices in technology, media, and design, while opening doors to exciting internship opportunities. On December 9, 2025, the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity (AMC) organized an outing to Tai Kwun, featuring the exhibition “Stay Connected: Navigating the Cloud”. Curated by Dr. Pi Li and Ying Kwok, the exhibition explored digital technology’s impact on society through eight thematic sections. Participants enjoyed a guided tour, engaging discussions, and a refreshing cultural retreat that strengthened community ties and sparked creative inspiration. Read more

As part of an AMC Special Interest Group (SIG) project, three MA in AMC students (Kedi DONG, Zhuli PAN, and Lisha ZHANG) visited Kam Tin Heung on November 30, 2025, One of the historic walled villages in the New Territories, preparations are underway for the once-in-a-decade Jiao Festival—a tradition with over 340 years of history dating back to the Qing Dynasty. With the generous guidance of Hong Kong artist TANG Kwok Hin, himself a descendant of the Tang Clan of Kam Tin Heung, the students gained valuable insights into the making of traditional Chinese paper crafts, the construction of the bamboo theatre, and the broader cultural significance of these practices. From research breakthroughs to creative showcases, the Division of Arts and Machine Creativity (AMC) made profound connections with global leaders in graphics and interactive techniques at this year's SIGGRAPH Asia 2025 held at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Center from 15–18 Dec, 2025. The HKUST x AsiaGraphics Night organized on 17 Dec 2025 in addition heightened mutual understanding and collaboration between AMC and attending guests from SIGGRAPH Asia 2025, providing ground for a day of fruitful exchange.
